sunday 05.31.09

catching-up on email, and g-chatting with andrea 'half of team bredrea' langhoff. spent all of sunday trying to be clean again. a wasted effort, it turns out. with nick, ryan, and erin, i settled happily into the couch in my pajamas with the computer.

saturday 05.30.09

pulling into the rockton bar, again, after an afternoon of canoeing. at this point i was too stubborn to change out of my river-drenched clothes (imagine that?) and much preferred to shiver (maybe not so) quietly at the bar. apparently, may isn’t all that warm this year. and, apparently, may isn’t all that warm when you won’t change out of soaking clothes. lesson learned.

friday 05.29.09

heading into the rockton bar with heather. took off for a weekend of camping and canoeing the kickapoo with ryan, katy, heather, aaron, and stacy. got the scoop at the bar (aka – the hub of everything rockton) on campsites, canoes, firewood. and the bar, perhaps, provided us with a drink or two.

thursday 05.28.09

reading. managed to power through most of ‘the kite runner’ on the plane rides, and was motivated to finish it pretty soon after making it back on solid ground. curled up in the big green for an evening read with liza joining in the distance.

wednesday 05.27.09

making dinner with colin/watching colin make us dinner. after a weekend or so trip, and a night at barriques, i was fresh out of food (other than scones and cinnamon swirls – which i bring home for nick and ryan to dominate), and grateful for a night to kick back with some wine and enjoy a good meal.

tuesday 05.26.09

right back in the swing of things in america’s dairyland. after a day at the medical foundation, an evening at barriques. cleaning up with quinn, trying to get out and get some rest asap. the flight landed at 12:20am. so my mind was already in bed by the time i hit the coffee shop. cleaning off the first of the two the milk steaming wands for the night.

monday 05.25.09

trip over. mom and i flew san francisco to denver in the afternoon. we had enough time in the layovers to grab a bite to each and some ice cream over backgammon (i, uh, can’t recall who won…) before parting ways. i had a few more hours in the airports. i watched her flight pull away and sat for a while at her gate waving, remembering the trip.
