the oh-so-familiar drive back from the west. heading out of sauk city on the last stretch to madison. the vw sees this route on a weekly basis as i head out to unity in sauk for various meetings from the medical foundation. the brown bridge indicates the loss and return of cell phone reception, based on my direction. sauk city does not allow my cell phone uninterrupted service free of dropped calls. i tell my one friend from sauk – who’s a republican – that sauk city censors the democrats/liberals by cutting us off from communication. tricky town, sauk city. i’m on to you.

driving from atlanta back to madison. southern illinois? and here the jammed-packed weekend in the south comes to an end. kara erin and i woke up bright and early after a night of wedding and wine to hit the road and drive straight through the day. there were many casualties on the windshield on the 12-or-so-hour drive. and even more michael jackson tunes coming out the speakers.

driving through barabooish home from the cities. jonathan delehanty in the passenger seat; jen & jason in the backseat. jonathan took us on a countryesque tour of my cd collection, with a little preview of some original tunes in there. hadn’t had company on the mpls to madison ride since andy hopped in das auto june of last year for the same ride. it was nice to have someone other than the beatles or dylan or phone people to keep me company.

driving home madison to minneapolis after a day of work. heading the wrong direction on the wrong road. the car defaulted to lax after all the epic weekends with the ladies spring semester. whoops. nice day for driving; i wasn’t too disappointed. obviously dangerously and illegally enjoying my drive. i spy no less than three things wrong with what’s going on in this picture. luckily the cop i passed a few moments in the future saw no more than zero things worth pulling me over for.

driving west-east side through downtown madison. trying to follow driving directions on my way over to hang out with colin. i was greeted with freshly-found and cooked morel mushrooms. the world, or at least my world in madison and lax, has gone wild for morel hunting. i have benefited twice now thanks to my generous friends willing to share their treasures.

driving back after a long easter weekend in the cities. taking out my favorite mix cd (my 'music you should know' mix for eric furhmann) and putting in jonathan delehanty's live cd. hanging out with him the previous night reminded me how talented he is, and how much i appreciate his music. i don't have any of his recorded stuff in cd format. only on ipod. so i enjoy the live cd he sent me back in the uw-l days - back in 2005?

making good time on my ride back to the cities. happy easter weekend. i left madison at a reasonable hour, after picking up the few cds i had on hold at the library. i sped down highway 12 and i-94 to 'in rainbows', 'we all belong' (until i got sleepy), 'troubadour', feed the animals' (definitely was not sleepy), and 'twin cinema' (read: 'bleeding heart show' on repeat, essentially). i made it to my favorite skyline around dusk. at the end of my road was ann, michelle, sarah, brenda, ashley, and shallon - all my gals from high school under one roof (!!!!) a night of wine and beer, their new friends in mpls, and good laughs good fun, ensued.

just finishing my drive madison to la crosse. headed into my college town to see alli for her bday. i made it in alright time. enough for alli and i to down a pitcher of strawberry margarita (blended) and some food. she had her senior show photo shoot 9-11pm on campus. people came from all walks of lax with crap they're not sure why they own to have their photo taken for the 'materialism' themed shoot. it's rare you see so many sunglasses, shoes, necklaces, and tights in one spot.

frantically driving across town. from a dinner meeting at the hospital (across the street from my house) to the princeton club. i didn't have time between the end of the work day and the start of the meeting to make it to the workout room. so after the meeting seemed like a good time. my day ended after 9:00pm. which is fine. but i can't help but wonder how the work life and personal life happen when there are kids?

i fly like paper...

driving home from work at the medical foundation. midvale & mineral point. i accidentally stayed later than i anticipated. the building i work in has a workout room on the main floor. i was in my cube until 6 or so, then headed downstairs to use the equipment. much more convenient on the weekdays than going to the princeton club.
